U14s BOOK THEIR PLACE IN COUNTY SEMI FINAL.

U14 C Championship Quarter Final Castlemartyr 03 - 13 Banteer 01 - 04 Today we welcomed Banteer to Castlemartyr for our quarter final encounter in the championship. Conditions were heavy underfoot but weather conditions were as good as we could hope for at this time of year, overcast with a slight breeze blowing across the pitch. This was the first time this year we had a squad of 19 available and every one of the girls were looking forward to contributing to the encounter. The girls battled hard in the first half and even though the grass was a little on the long side they overcame this and showed off the skills they have been perfecting throughout the year. Tenacious tackling, strong running, cohesive interplay and precision scoring has us with a well deserved lead at half time. Credit to Banteer, they definitely put it up to us after the break and our defence had a lot more work to do to quell a lot more attacks. Scores were hard to come by from both sides but thankfully we had done enough in the first half to secure the victory. Well done to everybody involved and now we face Rockbán in the Semi Final which is to be played next weekend. Venue, date and time to be confirmed.
