NO LUCK FOR OUR U 16s

Under 16 Championship preliminary round Mallow 03 - 07. Castlemartyr 02 - 03

On a wet and miserable Monday night we made the long arduous journey to the North Cork town to play our first championship match against Mallow. Under lights both teams found conditions challenging. On a night when we had a penalty saved and rattled the upright with a shot that was destined for goal it could have been a different result had the Gods been on our side. We had some outstanding performances on the night with Niamh Molloy doing stellar work as full back. Zara Bowles in the first half and Gráinne Lynch in the second stood between the posts and but for their expertise and composure under pressure we would have lost by a much greater margin. Every one of our girls worked tirelessly all over the pitch and put in a mammoth perform but it just wasn't to be our night.
